What Is Repiling and Why Does It Matter?

Repiling involves lifting a home and replacing or repairing the piles that support it. These piles are what keep your home level, stable, and structurally sound.

In older NZ homes (especially pre-1970), piles are usually untreated timber, which can rot, sink, or crack over time — especially in damp or poorly drained areas like much of the Waikato.

A failed pile can result in:

  • Cracks in your walls or cladding
  • Uneven or sagging floors
  • Sticking windows and doors
  • Compromised plumbing and drainage
  • Risk to your family’s safety
